This page explains what data turkishelections.com collects, how it is used, and what choices you have.
Analytics, and your choice
This site uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors find and use the site. Nothing is loaded until you accept. On your first visit a notice appears at the foot of the page with an Accept and a Decline button. Until you choose Accept, no Google script is fetched and no analytics cookie is set. If you choose Decline, that choice is remembered and analytics stays off on every later visit.
Once accepted, GA4 collects anonymized data such as pages visited, time on page, country of origin, browser type, and referral source. This data is processed by Google LLC under their Privacy Policy.
No personally identifiable information is deliberately collected or stored. IP addresses are anonymized before storage.
Cookies
If, and only if, you accept, Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (prefixed _ga) to distinguish visitors and sessions. These cookies do not identify you personally. They persist for up to two years but can be deleted at any time through your browser settings.
A small te_consent item is stored in your browser's localStorage to remember whether you accepted or declined. It contains no personal data and is never transmitted to any server. Declining also clears any _ga cookie an earlier acceptance may have left behind.
Changing your mind
Reset your cookie choice to bring the notice back and choose again. Declining removes the analytics cookies from this browser.
No advertising or tracking for third parties
This site carries no advertising and does not sell, share, or transmit visitor data to any third party other than Google Analytics as described above. There are no social-media tracking pixels or affiliate scripts.
Opt-out
You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting data about your visits by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. You can also block cookies through your browser's privacy settings.
